This is how traveling helped me find my way back.

Whenever I felt lost, I travelled, not to escape but to return.

In our current way of life, everything feels like playing fast-forward, whether at work or home. The pressure of keeping up with the motion can feel overwhelming sometimes. This loop of pressure and repetitive action creates more confusion and negativity, which may feel impossible or hard to deal with. That’s when we try to escape from reality, to find a purpose. Here is when traveling becomes a magical therapy for us.

These are the feelings, which travelling helped me achieve:

The joy and happiness of exploration:

In my everyday boring routine, like others, I also have a lot of responsibilities to fulfil. Sometimes when I feel lost and that the pressure of keeping up with the motion feels too heavy on me, I take a deep breath. As I am very fond of traveling, these are the moments when I feel the urge to go somewhere, inhale fresh air, staying in a new environment for a while.

When I think about the journey, and imagine all the exciting activities and adventures, my mind starts preparing itself to embrace positivity, making me less conscious of negative thoughts. It doesn’t matter whether it is a long or a short trip; the break from the monotony is what helps me regain clarity.

How traveling positively helped me become physically active:

Most of the day is spent sitting in front of a computer for work, which causes me a lot of issues like back pain, headaches, and leg cramp issues. On top of that, I feel very lazy to go to the gym. I know there are people like me who face the same.

That’s why I have embraced traveling as a positive physical activity, which mainly includes walking and hiking for me. Though there are other activities like swimming, skiing and climbing that people enjoy as well.

Whenever I go on a trip, after a long time, it feels like my mind has restarted and now I can think from a fresh perspective.

The Inner Satisfaction I get every time is what I crave for:

As human beings, we always feel a thirst for appreciation. We seek validation from others, whether it is work, creativity, or personal appearances. In a society where everyone is living with a fear of getting judged, I believe traveling is one of the best remedies to prioritize an individual’s will.

The freedom I feel while traveling, whether it’s a short or a long trip, is something I thrive for. It allows me to face challenges without the fear of being held back. The satisfaction and courage I have gained through traveling whether solo or in a group, has helped me evolve my self-esteem and become a better person.  I am truly in love with every journey I make because it gives me the courage to come back stronger and hope to face reality with a practical approach.

It gave me a purpose to come back:

I have always known that responsibilities, problems, and stress are part of life. I can’t ignore them. But being into them every single day without a break is what makes me feel claustrophobic. Traveling to different places, especially the journey itself, feels like a fresh breeze to me. When I set out on a journey, the way I leave my room with a lot of excitement and hope, when I come back, the same room feels so peaceful and comforting.

I believe we all need a little change to appreciate our routines. When we travel very often, or to faraway places for a long time, the feeling of coming back home grows stronger. When I am tired, or feeling sick, the first thing I imagine is the comfort of home.

Though coming back from a trip makes me feel a little sad, at the same time it creates hope for the future and deepens my appreciation for home. I always come back with the mindset that I am going to give my 100 percent and not to give up.

I believe the end of one journey will always lead to another.
